The Faculty of Dentistry (FD) of Universitas Indonesia (UI) swore in 35 new dentist graduates and 9 specialist dentist graduates. They are 2 Prosthodonsia Specialist dentists and 7 Periodontia Specialist dentists, 9 Masters graduates consisting of 2 masters of Basic Dentistry specialization in Forensic Odontology, 1 master of Basic Dentistry specialization in Material Science Dentistry, and 6 masters of Community Dentistry, and 3 Doctoral graduates, thus the number of graduates at this level is 30 graduates in July 2022. The oath-taking and commissioning ceremony, which took place at the Auditorium of the Health Science Commons, UI Depok Campus, was the first of its kind during the pandemic.
With the increase in the number of graduates of dentists, dental specialists, masters, and doctorates, FD’s dental graduates to date have totaled 3539 people. For the Postgraduate Study Program, the number of graduates of FD UI Specialist dentists to date is 1281 people, Masters 120 people, and Doctoral 128 people.
Dr. drg. Dr. Ria Puspitawati, PBO, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs of FD UI, started the event by presenting a list of graduates who achieved the best achievements from each level. Dentist graduates with the highest GPA are drg. Bernike Devitaswati (3.88), drg. Nadhira Dewi Hanana Irsan (3.87), drg. Denia Alya Tsary (3.87), drg. Kevin Setijono (3.87), drg. Hanna Sonia Lumban Gaol (3.85).
The Postgraduate Study Program with the highest GPA was occupied by dental specialist drg. Ines Agustina Sumbayak, SpPerio (3.87) with cumlaude predicate. The cum laude predicate from the Masters Program was obtained by drg. Atina Ghina Imaniyyah, MSi (3.94), while the Doctoral Program by Dr. drg. Anandina Irmagita, SpPM (K) with GPA 4.0 (cumlaude predicate).
In addition to these achievements, Dr. Ria also said that this year at the National Competency Test Theory Test for Dentist Professional Program Students (Uji Kompetensi Mahasiswa Program Profesi Dokter Gigi, UKMP2DG) for the second wave of 2022, a proud achievement was achieved by Drg. Yoga Chrisnugroho, who was able to become the 1st or highest rank with a UKMP2DG score of 97.50.
Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry UI Dr. drg. Nia Ayu Ismaniati, MDSc, Sp.Ort(K), congratulated and hoped that the graduates would utilize the knowledge and skills they have gained to improve the quality of service, scientific development, and research implementation in the field of oral health. All of that is done wholeheartedly and responsibly, for the achievement of better oral health in Indonesia.
She also motivated the graduates to be able to develop the best possible career, in the civilian or military world, and contribute actively in various social activities, to help the community. On this occasion, Nia submitted data on dental profession graduates to PB PDGI which was received directly by the Chairman of PB PDGI drg. Usman Sumantri, M.Sc., followed by the submission of graduate data as alumni to the Chairperson of ILUNI FD UI drg. Ketsia Ximena Sihotang, M.Si.
In a speech delivered by the Secretary of the University on behalf of the Rector, Dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D. advised the graduates to carry out their duties and services by always reflecting the soul and identity of UI citizens, namely Veritas (Truth), Probitas (Honesty), Iustitia (Justice), enhanced by the nine UI values consisting of Honesty, Justice, Trustworthiness, Dignity, Responsibility, Togetherness, Openness, Academic Freedom, and Compliance with Rules.
