In order to improve the quality of organizing events within the University of Indonesia, the Public Relations Bureau and Public Information Disclosure (KIP) held Event Management training which was attended by the UI Public Relations Team, UI Public Relations Ambassadors, UI 2023 Contributors and the Public Relations Team from various faculties within the Universitas Indonesia. This activity took place on Wednesday (12/04/2023) in Meeting Room A, 2nd floor of the University Administration Center Building (PAU).
Also present was the Secretary of Universitas Indonesia, dr. Agustin Kusumayanti, M.Sc., Ph.D in her welcoming speech said that this implementation was very important in increasing the capacity of every personnel from the Public Relations and KIP teams. Not only when organizing an event, but also how a team can plan well and evaluate activities to use as lessons for the next event.
Head of Public Relations Bureau and Public Information Disclosure (KIP) Dra. Amelita Lusia, .M.Si warmly welcomed Dwiko Raharjo’s presence as a resource person at this training. According to her, Universitas Indonesia never misses out on various important events such as graduations, so today’s training is very important for all participants.
Present as a resource person was Dwiko Raharjo who is the Director of DWK Production who has a wealth of experience in managing events, one of which is Jakarta Fashion Week. According to him, managing an event requires several aspects, such as the production process, type and stage layout, event category, lighting, and sound system. As professional event managers, we have to think about a design that suits the theme and concept of the event in as much detail as possible, for example color. “I never had formal schooling regarding event management, but I learned from experience in the field,” he said.
Furthermore, Dwiko Raharjo added that the direct survey process at the location was something he had to do when carrying out an event. Even though the event is held repeatedly every year, there could be changes in the position of the event location which will have a big impact on the organization and design of an event.
