Sri Mulyani, alumni of Faculty of Economy of Universitas Indonesia (FEUI) year of 1981
got title as The Best Finance Minister in ASEAN according to Finance Asia Magazine.
Currently, Sri Mulyani served as Finance Minister in Joko Widodo – Jusuf Kalla cabinet's,
'Kabinet Kerja'.
Under her leadership, Mulyani has run various programs, one of them that had drawn
public's attention was tax amnesty program.
Besides, Mulyani had also led Indonesia's Ministry of Finance in 2005-2010 in Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono era, before finally became the second lead person in World Bank in
2010.
In World Bank, Mulyani served as Managing Director and recorded as the most senior
woman that has ever served the position.
In her World Bank career, she had got into World Bank President list of candidates in
2012. Her position reached the favorite level (46%) followed by Kemal Darviss (44%) in
the voting that had done by a civil society organizations.
She has her own concerned in gender equality and women issues. In her explanation in
various chances, she highlighted number of issue that is faced by women regarding job
and income.
Mulyani got his degree from UI in 1986 and graduated with cum laude predicate. She is an
economy and development studies graduates of FE UI.
Her consistency on macro finance issue shown by her thesis theme selection at that time,
that was talked about the role of money, financial system and the role of central bank.
No longer after she had graduated from UI, she took master degree that is combined with
doctoral degree in University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UI-UC), United States in
Public Finance and Urban Economy majors.
With all of her consistency, track record, and achievement as well, in 2015, she has
chosen as one of the world's 100 most powerful women according to Forbes in 31 st
position.
