In order to strengthen the rapid response team for emergencies in the health sector for Universitas Indonesia (UI) academics community, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia, Tbk (BSI) handed over assistance in the form of an ambulance unit on Friday (9/12) at BSI Headquarters, The Tower Building, Jakarta. The assistance was delivered directly by Main Director of BSI Hery Gunardi to Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs UI Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, M.Sc.
“We express our deepest gratitude to PT Bank Syariah Indonesia, Tbk, which has helped UI create a campus that is safe, vigilant, and responsive. We will dedicate the ambulance and prioritize it to serve students, lecturers, and educational staff who need quick emergency treatment. We provide a standby ambulance for student events and activities, as well as for accidents and funerals for the UI community,” said Prof. Haris at the handover ceremony.
The management and operation of the ambulance will be fully handed over to Campus Environmental Security Unit (UPT PLK) of UI. Considering that in handling the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, UPT PLK has always been at the forefront of escorting and picking up UI academics who are exposed to Covid-19. “The new paradigm for UPT PLK is service for students. The ambulance supports UPT PLK to be an agile unit and ready to provide the best and fastest security services, especially for UI academics,” explained Prof. Harris.
Meanwhile, Hery Gunardi said, “It is an honor for us to be able to contribute to helping the best university in Indonesia. We continue to make efforts and are committed to supporting the welfare of the community and encouraging the benefit of the people, especially for students who study at Universitas Indonesia.”
The event was attended by faculty executives within UI, including Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Dede Djuhana Ph.D.; Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Dr. Bondan Kanumoyoso, S.S., M.Hum .; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU; Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Dr. Bagus Takwin, M.Hum., Psychologist; Director of the School of Strategic and Global Studies Athor Subroto, Ph.D .; Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration of FMIPA Dr. Tito Latif Indra; Head of UPT PLK Ach.
