Depok, September 30th 2023. Universitas Indonesia (UI) participated in the EAIE Conference and Exhibition 2023 at the Rotterdam Ahoy convention center, Rotterdam, Netherlands, which took place from 25th of September 2023 to 29th of September 2023. This event was attended by more than 100 countries in the world with 6700 participants. This participation would significantly increase the number of Erasmus+ collaborations with partner universities from Europe.

Erasmus+ is one of the most recognized programs in Europe, supporting education, training, youth, and sport. UI’s collaboration with Erasmus+ provides access for the mobility of students, lecturers and staff which has had a positive impact on increasing the number of mobility both inbound and outbound.

UI’s participation in the 2023 EAIE Conference and Exhibition aimed to reactivate academic mobility and international education programs as well as increase other collaboration opportunities. UI also participates in other international events, such as NAFSA 2023 (30th of May – 3rd of June 2023), in Washington DC.

“The UI International Office sees that international mobility trends are still not fully recovered after the pandemic compared to pre-pandemic. Therefore, EAIE is an effort to increase the quantity and quality of activities that have an impact on institutional visibility in order to increase reputation and academic mobility, with many universities in this forum,” said Head of the International Office, drg. Baiduri Widanarko, M.K.K.K., Ph.D., who was present at this activity.

Head of the UI Public Relations Bureau and Public Information Disclosure, Dra. Amelita Lusia, M.Si., who took part in EAIE 2023 with drg. Baiduri Widanarko, M.K.K.K., Ph.D., said that UI needs to take advantage of this international event to promote academic programs to international partners. “The exhibition that was held was a good opportunity, because the booths that were available were visited by most of the conference participants who came from various countries. There are 241 exhibitors in this activity who come from various universities around the world,” said Amelita.

Amelita further said that the 33rd EAIE was also a good opportunity to meet with international partners and discuss ongoing academic collaboration programs and explore future collaborative activities. “We also opened a booth at this event, to introduce UI more closely and to be able to interact directly,” said Amelita.

At EAIE 2023, UI is the only participant from Indonesia who opened a booth. “The enthusiasm of visitors during the three days of EAIE 2023 was extraordinary. The UI booth is visited non-stop by various other universities,” said Amelita. She said, from meetings with partners at EAIE, various partnership programs would be followed up.
