To prepare graduates to enter the work industry, Universitas Indonesia (UI) – Career Development Center (CDC) – is holding the 37th UI Career, Internship, Scholarship & Entrepreneurship (CISE) Expo March 2024. UI collaborated with KarirLab and received support from 161 partners, including 55 corporate partners, 12 scholarship institutions, 21 entrepreneurship institutions, 44 media partners, 28 university partners, and 1 telecommunications partner.
UI CISE Expo is the first and largest hybrid career fair in Indonesia to help students enter the world of work or continue their studies, providing easy access for all partners to connect directly and recruit students, college graduates and job seekers. This activity is also a means of increasing engagement and networking for one partner with other partners.
Plt. Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education and Culture, Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., fully supports the activities of the UI CISE Expo March 2024. He said, through this event, students can introduce students to the professional world from an early age. Collaboration between universities and various partners can provide college graduates who are competent and ready to compete in the world of work.
They not only learn through campus, but also learn about the situation in the world of work. Competencies, especially soft skills, are needed in the world of work through professional experiences, such as internships and independent studies through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, said Prof. Nizam. He added, this activity can also provide students with experience to explore more about the world of work.
The Chair of the Organizers of the UI CISE Expo March 2024, Prof. Dr. Drg. Sandra Fikawati, MPH., explained that this activity aims to connect UI students and alumni as well as the general public with companies that are currently opening job vacancies. It also provides facilities for graduates who want to continue their studies or start their own business.
“Therefore, the UI CISE Expo March 2024 is providing seminars and webinars to equip job seekers and graduates in the world of higher education to be confident in their choice,” said the Director of Graduate Career Development and Alumni Relations at UI, Ir. Ahmad Syafiq, M.Sc., Ph.D.
This activity was held online from February to March and the main event was held offline at Balairung, UI Depok Campus. The activity was attended by thousands of students, college graduates, and job seekers. On this occasion, participants can explore company and institutional booths and attend company talk sessions and exclusive company sessions to get information related to jobs, internships, scholarships, and entrepreneurship.
In the UI CISE Expo March 2024 series of events, there is a Stand Up Career Comedy competition and door prizes for new graduates and students. There is also a resume development facility which is guided by talent acquisition from KarirLab.
Students, college graduates, and job seekers still have the opportunity until March 31 2024 to visit the uicise.karirlab.co web page which is an integrated platform using One-Stop Integrated Career Fair Management technology which helps the recruitment process easier. Since the opening of this integrated platform, the Co-Founder of KarirLab, Stephanus Wicardo, said that there were 477 job vacancies, 36.41 thousand users and 498.5 thousand visits to the web page.
