Depok, July 21st 2023. In order to carry out the modernization and internationalization of education, Universitas Indonesia (UI) continues to expand its collaboration with various educational institutions in the international sphere. This collaboration includes student and lecturer exchange programs, programs related to research, and other activities that support the interest of both parties.

This time, the Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Universitas Indonesia (UI) collaborated with the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) Bangladesh. The signing of the MoU between UI and IUT was carried out by the Chancellor of Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Ari Kuncoro., S.E., M.A., Ph.D., and IUT Bangladesh Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., said that the meeting of two educational institutions from different cultural backgrounds to work together is a form of improving the academic quality of each university. Apart from that, one of the leading programs in the implementation of the education system at FTUI also really supports joint academic cooperation with foreign partners. “We really open up the widest possible opportunity for IUT to be able to collaborate and work together in order to produce reliable Future Engineers,” said Prof. Heri.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam conveyed that the warm welcome given by FTUI was very impressive. We feel that with FTUI there will be many things that can be collaborated on to increase resources, in this case students and lecturers, to be able to compete on the world stage.

IUT Bangladesh is optimistic that in cooperation they can carry out a double degree collaboration program with FTUI, such as an academic exchange program, both for students as well as lecturers and researchers. “We also have a visiting scholarĀ  funding scheme which includes stipendĀ  and ticket costs,” said Prof. Dr. Mohammad during the visit which was held on Friday (14/7) in the Senate Meeting Room, 2nd floor of the FTUI Dean’s Building.

From the results of this discussion, the delegation from each party agreed to follow up on the discussion so that it could be realized. This collaboration is expected to improve the quality of education from each party.
