UI Greeted King Salman’s Delegation Entourage

On Friday, March 3rd 2017, 28 delegation entourage of King Salman who were consisted of Saudi Arabia’s mass media and academician, visited UI Depok.

Among of the mass media delegation were  Dr. Abdullah bin Fahd Al Hussein (Editor in Chief of Al Jazeera Newspaper), Dr. Khaled Al-Malik (Editor in Chief of Al-Madenah Newspaper), Fahd Al-Aqlan (Editor in Chief of Okaz Newspaper) and some photographers.

Among of the educational delegation were Ibrahim Al-Nahhas (Academician), Idris Al Daris (Academician), Abdurrahman Allahu (Academician), and Muhammad Nasrullah (Academician).

In this visit, the delegation visited three places in UI, that were Mang Engking Restaurant, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), and Faculty of Humanities (FIB).

In their visit to FEB, the delegation observed class rooms and discussed about Economics and Sharia Business study program that is existed in FEB.

Meanwhile at Auditorium Gedung I FIB, the delegation discussed with students who most of them were students of Arabic Literature.

In the discussion, Abdullah bin Fahd said that UI students could do internship in Al Jazeera.

“We are welcome and open for students who are willing to increase their knowledge on media by doing internship in our company, of course with some standards,” added him.

Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bambang Wibawarta, S.S., M.A., said that the main purpose of this visit was to strengthen the kinship between the two countries, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

Besides that, there was also cooperation talks in research and innovattion. This delegation visit was part of King Salman visit to Indonesia that is done on 1-12 March 2017.

The Leader of Saudi Arabia brought a quite number of entourage, that was about 1.500 persons including 10 ministers, 25 princes, academician and mass media entourage.

It was planned that in this visit, Saudi Arabia government will signed 10 cooperation agreement in security, islamic affairs, health, culture, education, trade, investation, small and medium enterprises, fishey and civil aviation operations.

The visit to UI was part of cooperation exploration in educational aspect, in order to seek wider cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
