International Office Universitas Indonesia held an education and research exhibition for the first time that was titled “UI Insight and Global Opportunities Fair 2015: Your Gateway to Connect to the World”. The event was held for two days on September 9th to 10th at Balairung UI, Depok.
The education exhibition presented 24 foreign exhibitors that were consist of 18 foreign universities and 5 UI partner institutions. Among of the exhibitors who attended the event were representative of University of Twente, Australian National University, Osaka University, University of Queensland, dan Groningen University.
Beside the international programs, UI also introduced its intern excellent programs by presented representatives of all faculties of UI as exhibition participants. Visitors could get various information related to academic, research and innovation programs from each faculty.
Assoc. Prof. Nantana Gajaseni, Ph.D. (Secretary General of ASEAN University Network) attended the welcoming dinner event. She talked about the importance of building an education consortium in ASEAN countries in order to improve ASEAN university standard competency so they will be able to compete on global level.
Dr. Stefan Hell, Team Leader European Union Support to Higher Education in The Asean Region (SHARE) also attended and gave his welcoming speech at welcoming dinner event. He spoke about programs that has been done by European Union until now in order to support ASEAN programs. He also stated his appreciation for this international education exhibition. In his opinion, this event will not only contribute in developing ASEAN inter-university network, but also expand the network to Europe and the world.
The purpose of this exhibition was to give civitas academica of UI a chance to get information about scholarship, study opportunity, student exchange, research grants, and other collaboration opportunity in order to develop education and research to the international level. Moreover, the event was intended to be able to implement UI vision as world classs university by networking with international network.
