successfully achieved ’Most Outstanding Delegate’ in Malaysian National Model United
Nations 2018.
The event that was participated by about 400 delegations from various country was held
on March 30 th to April 1 st 2018 at Asia Pacific University (New Campus), Taman Teknologi
Malaysia.
United Nation (UN) general assembly simulation contest becomes an event that draws
attention. Each delegation delivered their thoughts about international issue and position
themselves as United Nation committee.
On Malaysia National MUN 2018 there were six committees that were consisted of
SPECPOL, UNPO, DISEC, SOCHUM, UNODC, and Cobbold Commission. Each
committee had different topic. Delegations were competed to give opinion, debate, and
give solution for each issue.
Japri acted as China Delegation on Komite United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
(UNODC). The topic that was discussed is Reviewing The ‘War on Drugs’ on Global Scale
dan Measures to Counter Counterfeit Medicine.
In his speech, Japri said that there was issue on counterfeit and forbidden medicine that
entering China. As a country that has a lot of border area with other countries, Japri
offered solution to create international cooperation in defense of national borders.
This idea is intended to improve control in border area to minimize illegal commodities,
especially counterfeit medicine and forbidden medicine.
“Participating in MUN makes me aware of international issue,” added Japri.
In this event, participants were also expected to be able to write a position paper. This
thing was meant to improve research ability of delegations because they have to search
the valid data and deliver a good argument.
Previously, Japri had participated in AMSA UNPAD MUN dan ITB MUN. Next June, Japri
will be participated in prestigious international event of MUN in Singapore.
