Students of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) got another achievement. Fabianto Santoso and Fakhri Muhammad (student of 2011) succesfully got prestigious achievement as Best Presentation Award on international scientific conference Asia Spine 2016 that was held September 22nd to 24th 2016 in Seoul, South Korea.
Asia Spine is the biggest regional meeting for spine specialist. This conference was held for the first time in 1997 named “Korea-Japan Conference on Spinal Surgery”. Asia Spine 2016 theme was “The Translation in Spine Care”.
In the Asia Spine 2016, besides getting a chance to participate in the whole conference, all participants were also asked to share their knowledge by their research abstract. All incoming abstracts were selected to be presented by oral and poster presentation. Unexpectedly, abstract from Santoso and Muhammad were accepted as the top 12 that will be presented on poster presentation session.
Research poster of Santoso and Muhammad was titled “Spinal Surgery Cases in Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital (CMNH), Jakarta from 2010 until 2015“. This research brought up spine surgery phenomena at Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital before and after BPJS (Social Security Provider) era.
Keep on trying and never stop fighting is the attitude that is Santoso and Muhammad keep. Thanks to it, they were able to show their ability on international conference event. They shared the tips for their colleague who wants to follow their path to not to be hesitate to discuss with their department if they want to participate in this kind of event, because department will guide them to do it.
