He said, “I congratulate all new UI Vocational students of the class of 2023. Hopefully, the UI Vocational program will be a new home for you to develop and create various works for Indonesia. Let’s grow together, as educated and competent human resources for advanced Indonesia.”

In his presentation, Herman said that the importance of financial management for today’s young generation is one of the keys to facing the global challenges they will encounter, both in college and when they graduate.

“Currently, literacy regarding financial management is an important issue that needs to be understood by the younger generation. Before making an investment, they need to fulfill their basic needs, emergency funds and insurance. This will make investments more stable,” said Herman.

Furthermore, Pahala also emphasized the importance of integrity in carrying out your role as a student. He explained various acts of ‘small’ corruption that could occur on campus, including cheating, plagiarism, and gratuities towards the campus. According to him, these three things become crucial if students make it a habit. He said, “I hope that UI Vocational students will not take such action. I believe we can all prevent ‘small’ acts of corruption starting from ourselves.”

On this occasion, Aji Selo and Nadif Zahiruddin, who are practitioner lecturers in the Media Production study program, shared their experiences in preparing themselves for a career in global scale industry. Selo said that building a strong support system is important when being a student. Apart from that, they also need to know important things and be wise in making decisions.

On the other hand, Nadif explained that students need to be agile in dealing with today’s increasingly large industries. “Build visionary and global thinking. The experience and education you receive as a UI student can be a provision for you to participate as a world community and deal directly with global challenges,” said Nadif.
