Depok, November 4th 2023. The Public Relations (PR) Bureau and Public Information Disclosure (KIP) of Universitas Indonesia (UI) won four awards at the 2023 Indonesian Public Relations Award (AHI), which was announced Friday (3/11) at the Quest Hotel Simpang Lima Semarang, Central Java.

UI received awards from four subcategories, namely E-Magazine and Website (gold winner), Public Information Service Report (silver winner), Public Information Service Room (bronze winner). In this event, which has been taking place for the fifth time, the Public Relations Bureau and KIP UI have routinely been included as one of the winners in various subcategories for 3 years in a row.

Head of the UI Public Relations Bureau and KIP, Dra. Amelita Lusia, M.Si., CPR said that this achievement was the result of cooperation and synergy between the Public Relations Bureau and KIP UI together with work units within UI and faculties/graduate schools/vocational education programs in providing access to the best services for UI residents and the general public. The various platforms that UI provides to support access to information for UI stakeholders, whether through face-to-face meetings, print media, including digital channels, aim to ensure that UI as a Public Agency fulfills the provisions of the KIP Law (UU) number 14 Year 2008. “I hope that UI continue to provide the best service,” she said.

AHI 2023 is a competition for communication performance and information disclosure for public institutions (government public relations/GPR) of regional governments, state universities, state/regional owned corporations, and public service agencies (BLU) throughout Indonesia. In its fifth year of implementation, AHI is carrying the big theme of “Information Disclosure for the Sustainability of Reputable Public Bodies”. Judging for AHI 2023 took place in two stages, namely preliminary (file) and presentation rounds, which were held in a hybrid manner over two consecutive days from 17th – 18th of October 2023.

Founder and CEO of Indonesian PR, Asmono Wikan, said that it is time for public information disclosure to be carried out properly by public bodies. Public bodies must make communication the spirit of KIP both in developing communication strategies, building message narratives and measuring them. Therefore, the 2023 AHI competition was held as a form of appreciation for public bodies that were deemed capable of communicating KIP well. “Through this event, it is of course hoped that it can encourage the creation of strategic government public relations practitioners and contribute to building the reputation of public bodies,” said Asmono, who is also a member of the 2022-2025 Press Council.
