Creating Quality Advocates, FIA UI Together with Balitbang Law and Human Rights Establish Cooperation in the Field of Executive Development Program (EDP)

In an effort to support the government in creating excellent human resources, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences of Universitas IndonesiaFAS UI) collaborates with the Legal and Human Rights Research and Development Agency (Balitbang Hukum dan HAM), Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) in the Executive Development Program (EDP) Policy Advocacy. This program is a training for State Civil Apparatus to influence stakeholders in policy or decision making.

“Thank you for your help in forming qualified advocates at Balitbang Law and Human Right. This program is a very important program so that you can become advocates. Your role as an advocate is very important in supporting the Law and Human Rights Policy Strategy Agency. I hope that in the future, you can become the backbone of supporting BSK’s performance in the future when you become an advocate,” said the Secretary of the Legal and Human Rights Research and Development Agency, Yayah Mariani, S.H., M.H.

Dean of Faculty of Administrative Sciences Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI), Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Si., M.M., said that in this program each participant will get several benefits, namely being able to understand the concept of policy advocacy and policy environment analysis; being able to compile instruments and materials for implementing policy advocacy through socialization, approaches, technical guidance, mentoring and monitoring evaluation of policy advocacy; and being able to implement effective communication with measurable targets and time.

In addition, EDP program participants are also expected to be able to convince and obtain support from stakeholders, provide guidance and facilities to stakeholders; be able to evaluate current advocacy techniques, methods and strategies, analyze weaknesses and shortcomings and develop more effective and efficient advocacy techniques, methods and strategies from various stakeholder conditions.

“On behalf of FIA, I would like to thank the High Leaders and Primary Leaders at the Balitbang Hukum and HAM who have given us the trust through the Institute for the Assessment and Application of Administrative Sciences (LPPIA) to hold an Executive Development Program to improve the competence of State Civil Apparatus at the Balitbang Legas and Human Right agency,” said Prof. Chandra.
