Diploma in Accounting (Vocational)

Course Description

The Accounting Vocational Programme, part of Universitas Indonesia Vocational Programmes, prepares intermediate-level accountants capable of preparing financial and tax reports and performing auditing under the supervision of another accountant.

Vision
To become an accomplished and competitive centre of accounting education in Southeast Asia.

Mission

  • To carry out vocational education in Accounting with a curriculum emphasising skills in accordance with the National Standard for Higher Edication and national and international standards of accounting, supported by technology suited for professional demands;
  • To produce graduates possessing professional competence on a national and international level who are responsible, cognisant of ethics, and capable of competing on a global scale;
  • To forge ties of collaboration with industries and professional associations on a national and international level;
  • To carry out quality, relevant Tri Dharma (education, research, and community service) beneficial for society.

Aims
To produce intermediate-level accountants capable of preparing financial and tax reports and auditing procedures in accordance with business ethics while making use of Information Technology, under the supervision of an accountant.

In order to fulfill its stated visions and missions, the Vocational Programme in Accounting develops its curriculum, syllabus, teaching materials, and teaching systems in perpetuity, keeping them up-to-date with national and international standards of accounting, supported by technology suited for professional demands.

Graduate Profile
Graduates of the Vocational Programme in Accounting are capable of preparing financial and tax reports and auditing procedures in accordance with business ethics while making use of Information Technology, under the supervision of an accountant.

Graduate Competence
Graduates of the Vocational Programme in Accounting are capable of:

  1. preparing document-based financial reports in accordance with current financial accounting standards for single entities and entities with one subsidiary, while making use of informational technology in accordance with financial accounting standards,
  2. tax reporting (income tax and value-added tax) in accordance with current regulations on taxing, and
  3. performing auditing under supervision

Courses
Courses are 60% practice, and 40% theory. ‘Practice’ here includes case study exercises, laboratory experiments, fieldwork, and internships.

Career Prospects
Graduates of the Vocational Programme in Accounting may become accountants in governmental and private institutions, intermediate accountants in public accounting offices, etc.

Industrial Partners
The Vocational Programme in Accounting holds collaboration with several national and international industrial partners and professional associations, which includes:

  1. Public accounting offices, state-owned enterprises, governmental institutions, and consultancies, for purposes of education, internships, and development of curriculum,
  2. National professional accounting institutions: Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (IAPI), Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (IAI), Professional Certification Body – Accounting Technicians (LSP-TA), etc.; and international professional accounting institutions: Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), etc.,
  3. Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM), in carrying out fieldwork.

Graduate Competence

The Vocational Programme in Accounting generate graduates equipped with professional competence on a national and international level. Graduates are provided with a national certificate of competence obtained from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). Graduates will also be guided through the process of other national or international certificates of competence, such as the Junior Associated Certified Profesional Auditor Indonesia (JACPAI) from the Indonesian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (IAPI) , Certified Diploma in Accounting and Business from The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Business & Accounting (Cert. BA) from Chartered Instituted Management Accountant (CIMA), accounting software certifications, etc.

Tuition Fee

Based on the UI Education Fees Decree in 2022

Fees are set at a fixed rate, consisting of an Operational Tuition Fee (BOP), payable each semester, amounting to Rp10.000.000,-.

and an Entrance Fee (UP) payable on admission, amounting to Rp 11.500.000.
