Course Description

Master in Information Technology (E-government) Program

Master in Information Technology (MIT) e-Government Program is a Kominfo Domestic Scholarship Program, which is carried out with the aim of realizing superior human resources for government officials in the development of e-Government within Central and Regional government agencies in accordance with Presidential Instruction No. 3 of 2003 concerning the National Policy and Strategy for the Development of e-Government. The target of this program is to provide human resources for managing e-Government within the Central and Regional Government agencies. The Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia is collaborating with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in organizing the Kominfo Domestic Scholarship Program.

Study Length

The MTI curriculum with the Kominfo Domestic Scholarship Program is designed for 3 semesters. Compulsory courses are held during the day (14:00-16:30), while elective courses are held at night (19:00-21:30) at MTI Faculty of Computer Science UI, UI Salemba Campus, Jakarta.

Civil Servant Participant Requirements

  • Civil servant in Central and Regional government agencies;
  • Not intended for civil servants in education sector agencies;
  • Maximum age of 37 years at the time of registration;
  • For civil servants in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost areas, the maximum age is 42 years at the time of registration. The list of 3T regions refers to the Letter of the Directorate of Special Regions and Disadvantaged Regions, Ministry of Planning, National Development/National Development Planning Agency no. 2421/Dt.7.2/04/2015 dated April 21, 2015;
  • Status of active civil servants and Indonesian National Armed Forces/Indonesian National Police who have a minimum working period of 2 years starting from becoming Candidates for Civil Servants;
  • Obtain permits and recommendations from the authorized officials (the head of an Echelon II level agency or higher) in the relevant agency to undergo education;
  • Do not have a master’s degree and are not currently participating in a master’s education program from another institution:
  • Minimum GPA requirement is 3.00;
  • Other requirements follow the requirements of each selected higher education institution.

In addition, the Kominfo Scholarship Program is open to the general public, especially the young workforce, to continue their master’s education.

General Participant Requirements
  • Indonesian Citizen;
  • Maximum age of applicants is 33 years at the time of registration;
  • Work background in the Information Technology sector or local startup;
  • Not intended for participants from education sector agencies;
  • Have a minimum of 2 (two) years of work experience in the field of Information Technology;
  • Obtain permission from an authorized leader to undergo education;
  • Include a letter of recommendation from a leader, lecturer, or other person who has credibility;
  • Do not have a master’s degree and are not currently participating in a master’s education program from another institution;
  • Minimum GPA requirement is 3.00;
  • Other requirements follow the requirements of each selected higher education institution.

This scholarship program is implemented under a cost-sharing scheme, with the division of responsibilities as follows:

  1. The Human Resources Research and Development Agency will bear the cost of education in accordance with the Educational Development Contribution that has been determined by each university during the normal study period. The HR Research and Development Agency also provides operational cost assistance of Rp.1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand rupiah) per month to each scholarship recipient.
  2. The work unit will bear other costs that are allowed in accordance with applicable regulations during the study period.

Registration Procedure

  • Interested applicants register online at https://penerimaan.ui.ac.id/ for registration for the Universitas Indonesia Entrance Selection (SIMAK). A complete registration guide is available on the UI admissions page.
  • After being declared to have passed the admissions selection at UI, prospective scholarship recipients will undergo further selection at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics by considering academic aspects as well as the suitability and completeness of the registration documents.
  • Applicants for the internal scholarship program of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, applications are submitted directly by civil servants who are prospective scholarship recipients.
  • Participants who are declared recipients of the Kominfo scholarship will receive a decree from the Head of the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, then sign a Letter of Agreement on stamp duty.

Tuition Fee

Based on the UI Rector’s Regulation No. 4 Year 2021

Education Operational Cost Master of Computer Science is paid every semester in the amount of IDR 23,000,000.00.

Development Fund which is only paid at the beginning of entering college is Rp. 17,000,000.00.

Graduates Profile

Graduates from the MTI study program, Faculty of Computer Science UI will receive a Masters in Information Technology (Magister Teknologi Informasi (M.T.I.)). MTI Faculty of Computer Science UI graduates are expected to have the ability and competence to bridge the IT and business/organization fields. Graduates will also be equiped with the ability to solve Information System and Information Technology problems based on case studies with academics and practitioners. In addition, participants gain expertise in articulating technical problems and solutions across organizations, as well as in business language.
