The Department of Dental Conservation Science, Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Indonesia (FKG UI), carried out social services regarding health issue in Subangjaya Village, Sukabumi. The social service was held virtually and was attended by 50 cadres of integrated healthcare center in the Subangjaya Village.

The cadres who involved in this social service received education about dental and oral health problems with the hope that they will become pioneers for the community about the importance of maintaining healthy teeth and mouth. Dental and oral health problems in Indonesia are still a disease with a fairly high prevalence.

Through this activity, it is hoped that the integrated healthcare center cadres can help the community to become more aware of the importance of doing dental care properly and correctly so that they can improve the quality of life of the community itself. The social service began with a health education entitled “Take Care of Your Dental and Oral Health from Home”, followed by a question and answer session, and continued with a consultation session.

The social service ended with the distribution of educational packages in the form of posters and leaflets as well as the distribution of basic necessities to the cadres. The event was also attended by Head of Cikole Sub-district Fitria Kusnaningsih, Head of Subangjaya Village Ferry Munggaran, S. “This social service is an annual activity carried out by the Department of Dental Conservation of FKG UI as a manifestation of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the fields of education, service, and community service. The Department of Dental Conservation FKG UI, as a part of dental education in Indonesia, has an obligation to provide education or counseling to the wider community about the importance of maintaining dental and oral health,” said Prof. Dr. drg. Endang Suprastiwi, Sp.KG(K) as the Head of the Department of Dental Conservation FKG UI in her remarks on October 24, 2021.

And they do not forget to obey the health protocols,” said Prof. Endang
