Universitas Indonesia is participating in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition 2024 to increase partnerships in student and lecturer exchanges, research collaborations, and other collaborative opportunities. This event occurred on 4-8 March 2024 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Center (PCEC), Perth, Australia.

APAIE also presented educational workshops with speakers from various universities. Around 1800 figures from universities, lecturers, and educational staff attended this event. APAIE is an annual event that promotes and brings together universities. Apart from exhibitions, APAIE also presented educational workshops with speakers from various universities.

“Together with the host teams from all universities in Western Australia (Curtin University, The University of Western Australia, Murdoch University, The University of Notre Dame Australia, and Edith Cowan University), I look forward to welcoming you to Perth to attend APAIE 2024,” said Professor Venky Shankararaman, APAIE President, as published on the official APAIE 2024 website.

APAIE was founded about 20 years ago, starting with a meeting of 13 universities in Seoul, South Korea. Two years later, the first conference and exhibition were launched for 400 delegates. Over the years, APAIE has been consistent with the initial goal of being a forum for bringing together international educators, both in Asia Pacific and throughout the world. However, in recent years, APAIE has added a focus on sustainability.

“It is an honor to be an exhibitor at an event attended by a variety of participants from diverse cultures, histories, perspectives, and experiences. UI has the opportunity to meet face to face with various active UI partners and open up opportunities for collaboration with partners from Asia, America, Europe, and Australia,” said Amelita.

According to Baiduri, “Even though many other universities have become UI partners, we have the opportunity to discuss other options that might be developed with old and new partners, not just student exchange, research collaboration, short courses.”
