The developing world of health requires human resources (HR) who have not only skill but also broad insights and knowledge, especially in the field of medical management. As a producer of work-ready graduates, Vocational Education Program of Universitas Indonesia (UI) collaborates with PT Medialoka Education Training in the field of education and various other programs.

“Vocational UI as a vocational education institution that has study programs in applied health, such as Hospital Administration, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy, is very aware of the increasing need for skilled human resources in the health industry. Through the collaboration between Vocational UI and PT Medikaloka Education Training, we can collaborate and realize a link and match paradigm between the education sector as a producer of human resources and the industrial sector, in this case health institutions, as HR users,” said Director of Vocational Education Program UI Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D., at the signing ceremony of the cooperation held at Hermina Tower Kemayoran Building, Central Jakarta, on Monday (19/09).

The cooperation between Vocational UI and PT Medikaloka Pendidikan Pelatihan do not only focus on education, but also other programs, such as joint curriculum development, public lectures, internships, clinical practice, and others. In addition, the student internship program, which is the main scope of the collaboration, will continue to grow considering that currently RSU Hermina has 44 branches in Indonesia.

Fulfillment of health workers, especially occupational therapists, is urgently needed for child development clinic services (KTKA) in several hospitals. In addition, other human resources are also needed for speech therapy professions and medical equipment technicians.

President Director of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk dr. Hasmoro, Sp.An, KIC, MHA, MM., in his speech said, “Currently, we are preparing for the inauguration of Hermina Health Institute which will be launched at the end of this year. Therefore, we also hope that the collaboration with Vocational UI can contribute to the development of our educational institutions. Not only the students, but also the knowledge given by Vocational UI lecturers to us.”

Participants who also attended the meeting were Head of Occupational Therapy Study Program of Vocational UI Hermito Gidion AMd.OT., M.Psi.T.; Director of Operations and General Affairs of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk Yulisar Khiat; COO of PT Medikaloka Education Training dr.
