The Directorate of Innovation and Science Techno Park (DISTP) Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a socialization of the Kedaireka Matching Fun Program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbud RI) for lecturers and researchers throughout Indonesia. Kedaireka (Indonesian Sovereignty in Design) is a collaboration platform for universities and industry with a flagship program, namely the Matching Fund funded by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture for collaboration between universities in the field of research and innovation with related industries. This socialization will be conducted online on Friday, March 04, 2022.

“Kedaireka is the latest solution that is in line with the vision of the Independent Campus (Kampus Merdeka curriculum) of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, and is held as an effort to increase creativity in universities and solve problems that exist in the world of work, because without synergy between the world of work and higher education there will be a strong link. lost,” said drg. Nurtami, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Research at Universitas Indonesia.

The Kedaireka 2022 Matching Fund program funds more than IDR 1 trillion for higher education and vocational programs. This is based on the problems that exist in society and strategic problems of the state, as well as encouraging innovation to solve these problems by the academic community of universities. Some of the goals of the Kedaireka program are realizing a close pentahelixcollaboration in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, downstreaming the results of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and assisting DUDI (Industrial World Business) through education, research agendas and community service in higher education.

Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education Ministry of Education,Culture, and Technology Republic of Indonesia Prof. Tjitjik Srie Tjahtjandarie, Ph.D., said that this program can be followed by the academic community of all vocational programs and programs with special terms and conditions. “This program has been launched since March 1, 2022 yesterday and the guide can be accessed through the Kedaireka website. The main requirements that can propose proposals from Universitas Indonesia agencies are active lecturers who have an NIDN or NIDK and have a track record that is relevant to the proposed collaboration program. DUDI must also be registered with Kedaireka as a partner for higher education institutions to submit proposals. The Kedaireka Matching Fund scheme is not the same as the usual (research) proposal, so it is necessary to re-examine the writing provisions of the proposals that will be submitted, “said Prof. Tjitjik.

DISTP UI’s innovation management flow related to funding for Kedaireka 2022 is for lecturers or researchers to input needs and investments through research collaborations. Previously, the researcher had to have an industrial partner or at least a potential industrial partner (could be a business entity owned by UI) to be submitted. Furthermore, UI management will help carry out developments such as license files, patent or intellectual property rights documents for researchers (with the criteria of research products having low risk with large funding), or independent commercialization of research products that have been completed (with product criteria). research has a high risk with little funding). DISTP UI will assist the research collaboration process with industry partners if the Kedaireka funding application has been approved.

“It should be noted that this funding (Kedaireka) is a bridgingor matching fund, which is funding for the needs of lecturers and researchers in fostering relationships with industrial partners and also attracting some investment from industrial partners for research purposes. The research funding provided does not just stop after the scientific article is finished. It is hoped that from this program there will be a follow-up and commercialization of products from the research that has been made. Therefore, the Directorate of Innovation and Science Techno Park will assist processes related to cooperation agreements between universities and industrial partners,” said Ahmad Gamal, S.Ars., M.Sc., MUP., Ph.D, as Director Innovation and Science Techno Park Universitas Indonesia.

It is hoped that Kedaireka’s funding will be able to encourage a research and innovation ecosystem between the government, academia, and industry within the University of Indonesia. The focus of Kedaireka’s issues that can be proposed include the digital economy, health independence, the green economy, economic recovery and tourism, and the blue economy. Submission of funding for this research can be made through a proposal with the previously mentioned pathway with a funding scheme of 1:1 (50% for industry and 50% for universities) or 1:3 (30% for industry and 70% for universities). Different funding schemes are based on the criteria for the benefits of cooperation for the wider community or for national strategic solutions.
