Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a Webinar & Due Diligence entitled “UI Investment & Start Up Forum” which consisted of three series of events, including an investment forum to introduce innovative products from faculties at UI on 7-8 April 2022 online, and due diligence forstart-ups on 9-12 April 2022. The peak event was in the form of a start-up forum by presenting keynote speakers, the Chancellor of Universitas Indonesia, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Investment, the President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the President Director of the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS), and other speakers which will be held on April 14, 2022 at the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Jakarta.

Universitas Indonesia’s Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA., said that this activity was the first forum in Indonesia held by a university by displaying the results of product innovations in the health and pharmaceutical fields and displaying start-upscreated by the nation’s young generations, by alumni and lecturers to the wider community. “This activity aims to create cooperation with institutional investors and start-ups in the health sciences, social humanities, and technology sciences, Special Work Units, and local governments in the fields of education, research, cooperation, and community service,” he said in his opening speech. .

Meanwhile, the Director of Universitas Indonesia Innovation and Science Techno Park, Ahmad Gamal, Ph.D., in the activity report said that UI’s innovation achievements include excellence and productivity in Intellectual Property cumulatively in the 2015-2021 period totaling 3,763 innovation products registered with the Directorate General Intellectual Property, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. “UI’s innovation focus tends to be concentrated in the fields of health and augmented engineering. Generally in product innovations of medical devices and instruments, Standardized Herbal Medicines (OHT) and phytopharmaceuticals, stem cells and metabolite compounds, and others. Information related to each of these products and innovations can be learned through the website innovationgallery.ui.ac.id,” he said.

The UI Investment & Start Up Forum is a forum to bring together UI academics including lecturers and students with BUMN, sponsors, donors, and selected investors so that further collaboration can be established. Through this activity, it is hoped that it can support the downstream needs of health product innovations as well as those in the leading research stage and provide added value by conducting due diligence on the start-ups that will be displayed.

Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH, MMB (Dean of the Faculty of Medicine), Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, MS., DSc (Dean of the Faculty of Public Health), Dr. dr. Astuti Giantini, Sp.PK(K), MPH (President Director of RSUI), and Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering),

Speakers on the second day of the UI Investment Webinar included Dede Djuhana, Ph.D (Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences), Prof. Dr. Ary Yanuar, M.Si (Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy), Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business), Dr. Eng Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng (Head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit of the Faculty of Engineering), and Adila Alfa Krisnadhi, Ph.D (Research Manager of the Faculty of Computer Science). Acting as moderators for the two webinars were Prashandya Astagiri Yusuf, Ph.D (Head of Sub-Directorate for Business Incubator, DISTP UI) and Dr. Eko Sakapurnama, S.Psi., M.B.A (Head of Sub-Directorate for Education Cooperation and UI Government).
