The lecturer and student team of the Management Department of FEB UI successfully won two awards at the 2019 World Asian Case Competition (WACC) organized by the Academy of Asian Business International Conference in Seoul, South Korea, (9-12 / 8/2019).

The World Asian Case Competition (WACC) was held with the aim of providing a global perspective to the participants as well as providing advice and analysis for various companies in Asia to make their brands recognized internationally.

The first award was received by a lecturer in the Management Department of FEB UI, Anna Amalyah Agus as Best Advisor in a case panel session with the topic “How to Write Good Business Case Study with Students”.

The second award was obtained by a student team from the Management Department of FEB UI, consisting of Dimas Indiarto, Nia Desmayanti, and Richardo Antolis whose writings were selected as the Top 10 Best Business Case Studies. The judgment based on the case in the paper must be significant, there is evidence of argument, originality of viewpoint, usefulness of the findings or lessons from this case, and writing that is interesting & fun to read.

WACC competition team participants came from Columbia University (USA), Nanyang technology university (Singapore), Military institute of Science & Technology (Bangladesh), Chinese University of Hong Kong, National university of Singapore, University of Technology Sydney (Australia), University of Hong Kong, University of Indonesia (FEB UI), Shandong University (China), FMS Delhi (India), and Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (Malaysia).

The topic of the paper raised by the student team of the Management Department of FEB UI, entitled “Delfi Limited: The Living Asian Willy Wonka” which tells about how the Delfi Limited company developed into a chocolate conglomerate and dominated the chocolate market in Indonesia. In addition, it also provides insight into the company’s success factors and how this family brought the company into the international realm. The data obtained in the paper comes from online articles, books and journals.

The Top 10 Best Business Case Study award won by the Management Department student team cannot be separated from the role of the supervisor from the Management Department of FEB UI, Anna Amalyah Agus. “Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful and proud of her achievements and commitment in working hard to make the name of the UI especially FEB UI and Indonesia international. I see this competition the higher the level of competition. More than 100 teams from various countries and universities participated. And UI, especially FEB UI, was chosen as the Top 10 Team, “he explained.
