Occupational Therapy Study Program

Course Description

The Occupational Therapeutic Study Program, Universitas Indonesia Vocational Program is a study program that prepares and produces middle-level professional experts who have knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the field of Occupational Therapy and are able to compete at the ASEAN level, have entrepreneurial insight, work in teams and are oriented towards professional ethics.

Vission of Study Program
To be one of the leading centers of excellence for Occupational Therapeutic education in ASEAN to produce ethical, ready-to-use and professional graduates in 2025.

Mission of Study Program
Provide Occupational Therapy education in accordance with the latest technological advances, in line with the needs of the world of work at the ASEAN level.
Produce graduates who are ready to be used and have good professional ethics.
Have competent teaching staff in accordance with the field of Occupational Therapy.
Develop curriculum, syllabus, and teaching materials to fulfil the needs of the world of work and international standards.

Objectives of Study Program
Producing middle-level professional experts who have knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the field of Occupational Therapy and are able to compete at the ASEAN level, have entrepreneurial insight, work in teams and are oriented to professional ethics.

Profile of Graduates
Profile of Graduates of the Occupational Therapeutic Study Program are graduates who are able to provide health services to clients/patients with physical and/or mental disorders/disability who have disturbances in occupational performance by using meaningful activities (Occupation) to optimize individual independence in the area of ​​activities of daily life. , productivity and use of free time

Competence of graduates
Graduates of Occupational Theraphy Study Program have the following main competencies:

  1. Capable to act in accordance to the theory and professional ethics of Occupational Theraphy.
  2. Able to carry out subjective (interview) and objective (observation and inspection) data collection using standardized measuring instruments
  3. Capable of making a Occupational Therapy diagnosis
  4. Capable of making occupational therapy intervention goals with patients and families
  5. Capable of planning management of occupational therapy program
  6. Cable in carrying out occupational therapy programs and able to operate short-term – long-term occupational therapy programs
  7. Capable of carrying out the occupational therapy process and assess occupational therapy interventions
  8. Capable of evaluating and re-evaluating occupational therapy programs
  9. Cable of doing a follow-up cases of occupational therapy
  10. Cable of making referrals to other experts related to patient cases and able to receive referrals
  11. Capable of making a comprehensive written reports on occupational therapy cases
  12. Capable of collaborating in the management of occupational therapy problems for individuals, families and communities

Field of Work for Graduates
An Occupational Therapist can work in hospitals, clinics and rehabilitation centers, special schools, industry and private companies, as well as become an educator and consultant. The scope of Occupational Therapy consists of pediatrics (children), geriatrics (elderly), psychosocial (mental disorders), physical disorders, and occupational health. Some conditions that can be handled by an Occupational Therapist include developmental disorders, sensory disorders, nervous system disorders, heart disorders, system disorders, skin disorders, injuries, muscle and joint disorders, cognitive and psychomotor disorders, mental health disorders.

Occupational therapy is a health profession that focuses on one’s abilities by promoting health and abilities through meaningful and purposeful activities. Where an occupational therapy allows a person to participate in activities of daily living independently by working with family and community to improve a person’s ability to engage in appropriate work or by modifying work or the environment to better support work involvement or activities.
How does an occupational therapist work?

  1. Assessment, is together with the client’s family to focus on one’s abilities and problems related to activities in the client’s daily life.
  2. Planning, is an activity plan that includes short and long term goals of treatment that are relevant to habits, roles, lifestyle and environment.
  3. Intervention, is Interventions / activities focused on programs that are oriented to the environment and people. Designed to facilitate daily activities and adaptations in which a person works, lives and socializes.
  4. Cooperation, which is cooperation and coordination with other professionals, families, nurses and volunteers who are important in the realization of a holistic approach.

Industrial Partner
The Occupational Therapy study program has 15 internship sites consisting of Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Fatmawati Hospital, Gatot Subroto Hospital, Jakarta Islamic Hospital, Suharto Heerdjan Hospital Jakarta, Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital Bogor, Bina Grahita Social Home (PSBG) Cibinong, Suyoto Bintaro Hospital, RS Friendship, Dharmais Cancer Hospital, Duren Sawit Hospital, Blue School, Highscope School, My Child Clinic and School and Heesu Orphanage Cileungsi Bogor.

Graduate’s Certification
In order to welcome the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), the Vocational Education Program, including the Occupational Therapy Study Program, carries out competency certification for all graduates. Competency certification activities are carried out through collaboration between the Study Program, LSP UI and BNSP.

Tuition Fee

Based on the UI Education Fees Decree in 2022

The education fee for Occupational Theraphy Study Program is fixed with the BOP (fee) Rp10.000.000 per semester.

Development Fund is Rp 11.500.000.
