In order to realize the vision to become an excellent and competitive center of science, technology and culture, Universitas Indonesia continues to strive to increase its capacity in mastering and applying science (science and technology) in various aspects of the Tri Dharma. One of the concrete forms of this effort, Universitas Indonesia is pioneering innovation and transformation in UI’s campus digitalization program. The implementation of digitalization on UI is also carried out as UI’s real contribution in preparing Indonesian human resources to welcome the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

The launch of UI GOES DIGITAL will be held on Thursday, 28 October 2021, to coincide with the commemoration of the Youth Pledge, as UI’s contribution to the country. In this series of activities, UI will hold a talk show on campus digitalization by presenting a keynote speaker Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti, S.E., M.Sc., and speakers from Director of Information System and Technology Ir. Gunawan Wibisono, M.Sc., Ph.D, Director of the UI Commercial Business Special Work Unit of PT Makara Mas Putra Utama Abbas, S.E., MBA., Chairman of ILUNI UI Andre Rahadian, S.H., LL.M, M.Sc. as well as digital security expert Gildas Lumy, CISSP, CLSIP.

“UI GOES DIGITAL” activity includes the launch of a digital innovation and transformation program, which will be enlivened by a talk show on digitalization at Universitas Indonesia campus. “UI GOES DIGITAL” is a form of digitalizing and centralizing information for the UI academic community in the form of a mobile application, where the application is always in the hands of the UI academic community who are technologically literate. In the context of the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the application of various digital applications has contributed to suppressing the spread of the virus within the UI campus environment by reducing direct contact in transactions.

According to Prof. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA, the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Assets of UI, this digital application will later integrate academic activities and academic support services at UI. The UI Pay digital application, which is a payment gateway application owned by Universitas Indonesia, serves as a supporting tool for the implementation of a digital campus. UI Pay can be used to make online payments at UI Store and the Special Work Unit for Applied Psychology Institute of UI. UI Pay is created to run cashless transactions in the UI environment with the best security system equipped with fraud and cheating detectors.

Today UI Mobile program is also introduced, which is a student’s digital identity or identification in the form of an electronic student card (e-KTM), which can be used for various academic and non-academic activities, for example as an access card to enter the library and borrow books. UI developed this application with the aim of facilitating UI academics in obtaining information and services on campus. Through this application, which can be downloaded at ui.id/uimobile, UI students can obtain information about the campus, student academic information, and so on. This application will also be developed with the emergence of an electronic wallet, UI Cash, which can be used for retail transactions within the UI environment. UI Mobile is a milestone for UI in starting campus digitalization.

These applications were developed collaboratively between the Directorate of Information System and Technology UI and the UI Commercial Business Special Work Unit of PT Makara Mas, a subsidiary of UI Corpora which is under the auspices of the Directorate of Management and Development of Business Units, and in synergy with the Directorate of Finance UI. The launch of UI GOES DIGITAL is carried out by Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Assets of UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA and the Director of Management and Development of Business Units at Universitas Indonesia.
