UI TOOK HOME 3 GOLD MEDALS, 2 SILVER MEDALS, AND THE AWARD FOR THE MOST POPULAR COMMITTEE IN PRINT/ONLINE MEDIA FROM PRIA 2023

Universitas Indonesia (UI) won six awards at the 8th Public Relations Indonesia Award (PRIA) 2023 competition. The announcement of the winners was made at an award ceremony themed “Komunikasi untuk Peradaban Negeri” (Communication for Nation’s Civilization) in Denpasar, Bali, on March 15-17, 2023. In the subcategory of higher education, UI won awards from the categories of Digital Channel, Annual Report, Owned Media, and Most Popular Category in Print and Online Media.

For Digital Channel Category with the Subcategory of Instagram Social Media, UI won a gold winner, and with the Subcategory of Website, UI won a silver winner. In addition, UI also received the title of a silver winner in the Annual Report Category, Annual Report Subcategory; a gold winner in the Owned Media Category, the E-Magazine Subcategory “UIMAGZ – Edisi XIX/Juli 2022: Kontribusi UI dalam Presidensi G20“; and a gold winner in the Owned Media Category, Print Media Sub-Category “UI Magz–Edisi XIX 2022”. Meanwhile, UI also gained an award in the Most Popular Category in Print and Online Media 2022, Higher Education Subcategory.

Head of Public Relations and Public Information Disclosure Bureau (KIP) UI Dra. Amelita Lusia, M.Si. CPR., said, “We would like to thank the judges of PRIA 2023 and Public Relations Indonesia who have appreciated our work this past year, especially those related to PR tools in the form of internal magazines—both print and e-magazines—, websites, and Instagram.” In addition, she hopes that the award in the Most Popular Category in Print and Online Media in 2022 will further motivate UI to share positive information with its internal and external public. “We also would like to express our gratitude to fellow media journalists, especially those in charge of the education sector, for reporting on all of UI’s research, innovation, and real contributions to the country, according to the theme of this PRIA event, which is Communication for Nation’s Civilization,” said Amelita.

PRIA is an annual competition event that is part of PR Indonesia’s commitment to appreciating the performance of corporate/agency communications practitioners to measure public relations (PR) performance throughout one year. It reflects the highest achievement of corporate/organization communication performance.

The PRIA competition is open to national and multinational private companies, SOEs, SOEs subsidiaries, regional-owned enterprises, city/regency/provincial governments, institutions, ministries, higher education institutions, and PR agencies. In its eighth year, the categories being competed for are Owned Media, Digital Channel, Crisis Management, Annual Report, Public Affairs Program, PR Program, CSR Program, and PR Department.

The assessment process was carried out in a hybrid mode for four days from February 13–17, 2023. There were a total of 837 entries from 235 agencies participating in this event. The assessment was carried out by juries consisting of PR experts, PR and CSR senior practitioners, PR consultants/agencies, PR associations/organizations, media figures, senior photographers, design and branding experts, and social media experts.

At the peak of the award ceremony which was held in Bali, PRIA 2023 invited several speakers, namely the Director General of Public Communication and Information (IKP) of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) Usman Kansong, Chair of the Press Council Ninik Rahayu, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Inter-agency Division of Social Security Administrator for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) Oni Marbun, and VP Public Relations of PT Global Digital Niaga (Blibli) Yolanda Nainggolan. Quoted from PR Indonesia’s official website which was uploaded on Friday (17/3), according to Asmono Wikan as the Founder and CEO of PR Indonesia, the growth in the number of PRIA competition participants which always increases every year shows the enthusiasm of PR practitioners across sectors to continuously maintain their work so that communication never fades. During the assessment process, Asmono, who was also the jury for PR Program and PR Department categories, also saw quite a number of significant changes, especially from participants in the category of PR Program.
